Astronauts Now On Their Way To The Space Station

The joint venture between NASA and SpaceX to launch a 4-person crew aboard a Falcon 9 rocket to the International Space Station on Wednesday, was a success….

The rocket took off at noon from pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center with 2 American astronauts; 1 Japanese astronaut; and for the first time ever in a SpaceX Crew Dragon Capsule, a Russian Cosmonaut. Yesterday’s Crew-5 mission took off as SpaceX’s 6th crewed flight under contract from NASA and the 8th so far including private spaceflights. Minutes after liftoff, the Falcon 9’s first stage… which by the way was brand new and had never flown before… successfully landed on the drone ship stationed offshore in the Atlantic Ocean. The capsule is expected to dock with the International Space Station around 5 this afternoon.
