Launch Today / Launch Tomorrow – SpaceX Gears Up For A Busy Week

As of right now, it’s still a “go.” SpaceX plans to launch a Falcon 9 today for OneWeb, carrying 40 satellites to low earth orbit as part of OneWeb’s buildout of a constellation of high-speed internet beaming satellites similar to SpaceX’s own Starlink system. Today’s launch is set for 5:37pm from Pad 39-A at The Kennedy Space Center. About ten minutes after launch this afternoon, the Falcon 9 booster will return for a land-based recovery at the Cape’s Landing Zone 1, creating some sonic booms that will reverberate up and down the Space Coast. Then tomorrow… very early tomorrow… at 3:04am Wednesday… another Falcon 9 will launch from pad-40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, taking a Japanese Lunar Lander to the moon. That flight had originally been set to go on November 30th, but it was delayed to December 1st, and then again until tomorrow for final pre-flight checkouts and data review.
