A Sebastian man was arrested Thursday in connection with an investigation into the death of a woman whose body was discovered lying on U.S. Highway 1 near Sebastian. 52 year old Drew Leibrock is facing charges including leaving a scene of an accident with death and tampering with evidence. The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office says Leibrock and the woman were drinking at his home late into the night, when he got in his vehicle and left after the two got into a dispute. He says he drove to Whispering Palm Mobile Home Community where he was planning to sleep in his parked vehicle. But the victim followed him there, and hit the outside of his vehicle multiple times and refused to stop or leave. When he then tried to drive away, he ran over the woman but never reported it. Investigators found Leibrock in Palm Bay, where he was taken into custody. He’s now behind bars in the Indian River County Jail on $100,000 bail.
