Sheriff Ivey And Others Hold Press Conference To Address 2nd Amendment Threat

Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey, Florida Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson, State Senator Danny Burgess and State Rep. John Snyder all got together Tuesday to hold a press conference to discuss a bill that would protect 2nd Amendment Rights of law abiding citizens from banks who target gun purchases. The group explained what they say is a dangerous backdoor way to take rights away from law abiding citizens. For the first time in history, credit card companies are being told that they have to assign a code to gun sales and ammo sales at gun stores. They say it’s wrong. It puts Floridians in danger, and it infringes on constitutional rights. The bill prohibits the use of an MCC code, or “merchant category code” identifying guns and ammunition, and credit card companies that disagree with the law can be fined up to $10,000 per incident.
