Another Success For SpaceX

Chalk up another success for SpaceX… A 230 foot tall Falcon Heavy rocket took off Sunday right on time at 5:56PM from launch pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center. About two minutes later, the two side boosters separated just like they were supposed to do, and then glided back to land at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station’s Landing Zones 1 and 2… setting off loud sonic booms as they did so. Nearly the whole thing, from launch to separation and then the burns leading to the landings, was clearly visible to the naked eye in the crystal clear evening sky. The launch payload was said to be classified by the Department of Defense. Another launch is scheduled for this Wednesday no earlier than 7am from Cape Canaveral Launch Complex 40. It will include a drone ship landing, and that means Wednesday’s launch will not cause any sonic booms that can be heard here along the coast.
