A teacher in Volusia County has been arrested on charges accusing him of having an inappropriate relationship with a student. Arin Hankerd served as a gym teacher and football coach at Atlantic High School in Port Orange. Police there say they were called to a home after getting a report about an ongoing relationship between a 15-year-old student and Hankerd. Police say they were tipped off about the relationship that reportedly began around the first of the year. Detectives arrested Hankerd Sunday evening after executing a search warrant at his home. Hankerd is being held at the Volusia County Jail with bond set at $115,000. Meanwhile, the investigation is ongoing and police ask anyone with more information to contact them.
