SpaceX To Try Again Tonight

SpaceX scrubbed the first launch attempt of a three-core Falcon Heavy rocket at Kennedy Space Center last evening. The flight was originally set to take off from Launch Pad 39A sometime during a 99-minute launch window that opened at 11:04pm. But the mission to send the communications satellite for Hughes Network into orbit was aborted just seconds before liftoff due to what SpaceX said was “a violation of abort criteria.” A second attempt will take place late tonight during a window that extends from 11:04pm to 12:43am Friday. However, according to Space Force forecasters, the weather conditions during the window will be iffy… only 40% favorable for liftoff. If it does go up late tonight, get ready for some loud sonic booms as both first stage boosters will target landings at the Cape’s Landing Zones 1 and 2.
