Forecasters Watching Several Disturbances But No Direct Threat To Florida

The National Hurricane Center is tracking a disturbance in the Atlantic Ocean that’s located south of the Cabo Verde Islands. The tropical wave has been given a 40% chance of development over the next seven days. Forecasters say conditions are expected to be favorable for gradual development of the system, and a tropical depression could form over the weekend or early next week while it moves westward to west-northwest over the tropical Atlantic. Right now, it’s nothing much for us to be concerned about. Meanwhile, another tropical system that forecasters say has no chance of development will bring increased rain chances to Florida as we head into the weekend.
