Three weeks after being taken into custody in Alabama, 28 year old murder suspect Robert Lanning is now in the Brevard County jail. His girlfriend, 41-year-old Rene Lemos is also in the local lockup. Palm Bay Police say the two walked up to 30 year old Nick Mitchell as he was pumping gas at the Circle K in Palm Bay back on August 30th, then drove his BMW… with Mitchell in it… in the Compound… taking turns drag racing. Lemos claims Lanning shot Mitchell and stole his car. Lanning told detectives it was Lemos who shot Mitchell, who as it turns out, wore a heart monitor with GPS that helped police find his body.
