A 16 year old girl in Putnam County is dead after being struck by lightning while hunting with her father. Baylee Holbrook died Thursday morning after she and her father were struck by lightning while hunting together Tuesday afternoon. It’s believed the bolt of lightning ricocheted off a tree before hitting them. Her father lost consciousness, and when he awoke, he realized that his daughter had stopped breathing. He immediately called 911 and began CPR. Baylee was rushed to a trauma center in critical condition. She passed away just after 9:30 yesterday morning. Baylee’s father is recovering and expected to be OK.
