A 60 year old Melbourne woman who was riding a bicycle was hit and killed by the driver of an SUV in Suntree Sunday morning just before 8:30. The fatal accident happened at the intersection of Wickham Road and Pinehurst Avenue. Police say the SUV was driven by a 53 year old woman from Melbourne who was stopped at the intersection, waiting to make a left turn and when the light turned green, the SUV began to make that turn as the bicycle rider rode directly into the vehicle’s path. No names have been released.
