Volusia County Man Arrested In Titusville For Shooting At Work Crews From His Airboat In Mims

A Volusia County man was arrested in Brevard County after shooting at a diving crew from his airboat last weekend in Mims. Richard Macko now faces charges including three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill. It happened as a crew of divers was repairing a bridge on a floating barge, clearly marked to ward off other swimmers and boaters. Despite that, Macko’s airboat repeatedly approached the barge, prompting crew members to yell at him to stay away. In response, they say Macko pulled out a handgun and fired at least one shot at them. The crew all ducked for cover and fortunately nobody was hurt. Macko was later taken into custody in Titusville.
