Homeland Security Investigations intercepted a boat attempting to smuggle four illegals into the country near Sebastian Inlet last Friday. The boat, originating from Cocoa, was monitored and intercepted by HSI outside the inlet with assistance from Indian River County Sheriff’s Office. The individuals and the boat were taken to Sebastian Yacht Club, where Border Patrol took custody of the individuals. Authorities also seized the vessel involved in the smuggling attempt. This incident follows the indictment of the boat owner… said to be from Brevard County… earlier this year for a similar offense.
