An Ormond Beach woman is facing serious charges after Volusia County deputies say she broke into her ex-husband’s home in Bunnell and attempted to stab him as he slept. Melinda Gould called 911 requesting a wellness check, claiming she had a nightmare about gunshots at her ex-husband’s home where her children were staying. Deputies found her ex-husband holding her down, and a filet knife nearby. Gould reportedly tried to buy a gun to kill her husband, but failing that, she armed herself with a knife. She now faces charges including aggravated assault, armed burglary, and child abuse.
