If you were traveling yesterday on Interstate 95 just north of here… in Volusia County… chances are you might have been tied up a bit. A tragic crash on the interstate resulted in the death of a 38-year-old woman and a 2-year-old girl. The incident, which occurred just south of US-1 in Ormond Beach, caused major delays as all northbound lanes were shut down. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash involved multiple vehicles and resulted in serious injuries for three other people. The roadway closure stretched for nearly 10 miles, causing significant traffic backups. Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
