One person died Friday afternoon after a car collided with a Brightline train at a crossing in Rockledge. Witnesses told police that the driver appeared to try to beat the train across the tracks. The intersection was shut down as authorities investigated and crews were brought in to clear the wreckage, which included the car that was severed into two pieces. Authorities continue to investigate that crash.
