Hurricane Melissa Makes Landfall in Jamaica as Category 5 Storm

Hurricane Melissa struck southwestern Jamaica near New Hope Tuesday as an extremely dangerous Category 5 storm, bringing maximum sustained winds of 185 mph. Brevard Residents Begin Cleanup After Historic Flooding

Northern Brevard County residents began recovering from flooding that followed more than 15 inches of rain in Port St John. The downpour, which started Sunday evening, left hundreds without power, stranded vehicles in flooded streets, and washed out sections of local roads.
