NASA Marks 40th Anniversary of Challenger Tragedy at Kennedy Space Center

Families of the astronauts lost in the space shuttle Challenger accident gathered Thursday at Kennedy Space Center to mark 40 years since the shuttle broke apart 73 seconds after liftoff on Jan. 28, 1986. Relatives laid flowers at the Space Mirror Memorial. The ceremony also honored crews lost in the Columbia and Apollo 1 disasters.
