Fire Damages Merritt Island BBQ Restaurant
Brevard County Fire Rescue crews quickly contained a fast-moving fire that tore through a Sonny’s BBQ restaurant on Merritt Island Monday. Firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading further and reported no injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Brevard County deputies have arrested 48 year old Lucas Stedman on a charge of aggravated animal cruelty. Investigators say Stedman shot and killed a cat with a high-powered BB gun last month after becoming upset that the animal did not get along with his own cat. He is being held on a $50,000 bond.
