Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a death warrant clearing the way for 64 year old Ronald Palmer Heath to be executed by lethal injection on Feb. 10. Heath was convicted of first-degree murder, robbery with a deadly weapon, and multiple forgery charges for a 1989 Gainesville bar killing. It will mark Florida’s first execution of the year following a record number of executions in 2025.
