As we approach what is normally considered the peak of Hurricane Season, there is not a lot going on out there. There are several areas of potential development in the tropics, but none of them currently are believed to pose a threat to Florida… or to anywhere else along the eastern seaboard for that matter. One area near the Lesser Antilles has an 80% chance of development over the next five days according to forecasters, who also say if it does develop, it will likely remain out to sea. The peak of hurricane season is September 10.
