A roughly 400-pound manatee is now recovering after being pulled from a storm drain in Melbourne Beach. City crews found the animal trapped inside a baffle box during routine road work and called in wildlife experts. The manatee was taken to SeaWorld Orlando, where staff report it is eating and showing positive signs. There is no timeline yet for its return to the wild as recovery plans continue.
