The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what it calls a suspicious death after a body was found along Indian River Drive near Sebastian. Authorities identified the victim as 18 year old Elias J. Ramos of Volusia County. Investigators say he may be the same person who fled from officers last week in Southern Brevard County and jumped into the Indian River Lagoon during a pursuit. Investigators believe weather conditions may have carried the body south before it washed ashore. Multiple agencies searched at the time but were unable to find him.
