A Florida man convicted of killing a Fort Pierce police officer more than three decades ago has been executed. Fifty three year old Billy Kearse was put to death by lethal injection Tuesday evening at Florida State Prison in Raiford for the 1991 murder of 29 year old Officer Danny Parrish. Authorities say Kearse shot the officer during a traffic stop after grabbing Parrish’s service weapon. Kearse was pronounced dead at 6:24 p m after the U S Supreme Court denied a last-minute appeal.
