After several weeks of declining gas prices, the cost to fill up your tank is rising again… and fast! Just about a week ago, most of us were paying under $3 a gallon, but according to AAA, the average price as of yesterday, was $3.26 a gallon here in Florida, and now they say we could be looking at prices in the $4 a gallon range by summer. The causes are many according to economists. High inflation, the lingering effects nationwide of the COVID related lockdowns in many parts of the country, and strict federal restrictions on energy markets, such as oil drilling and domestic energy production. Experts also point to the federal green energy push, which they say has forced oil companies to cut back on production… along with the Biden administration’s cancellation of lease sales without creating new ones. A gallon of regular in Brevard County on Monday, averaged around $3.25 a gallon.
