Get ready for some fast action… Brightline trains will soon begin testing at high speeds on the tracks running through Melbourne, Palm Shores, Suntree, and Rockledge. Just two weeks ago, a Brightline train was clocked at 130 mph during a test run in Orange County between Cocoa and Orlando. Soon, possibly as soon as March 28th, Brightline trains will be running at up to 110 mph on test runs along a 13-mile stretch of track between Lake Washington Road in Melbourne to Rinker Way in Rockledge. The testing will be done daily between 7am and 4pm, and flaggers will be stationed at the crossings during that period. Everyone is reminded that rail traffic will run on both sets of tracks, and in both directions. Stay off the tracks, and NEVER try to go around the crossing gates. If you try, you could die!
