Brightline Launch Marred By Death

Brightline officially began high speed train service between Orlando and Miami on Friday, but the very first arrival in Orlando was late… due to a crash that took the life of a pedestrian along the route. The crash actually involved another Brightline train that was headed south to Miami from West Palm Beach. Delray Beach police say it happened Friday around 7am. The train en route to Orlando was scheduled to depart at 6:41 a.m., but the delay set it back about 30 minutes. Brightline trains by the way, have the highest death rate of any trains in the entire United States. There have been 98 people hit and killed since operations began between Miami and West Palm .
