A man from Titusville was shot and killed by Sheriff’s Deputies in Citrus County following a pursuit that ended in Marion County. 33 year old
Skyler Wentworth of Titusville was driving a Mitsubishi SUV near Hernando on Friday night, when Citrus County deputies tried to pull him over for a traffic violation. Wentworth refused to stop, and took off… tossing a bag from the SUV that later tested positive for fentanyl. A woman and a child were in the SUV with Wentworth, who eventually slowed down enough for them to get out. The pursuit continued into Marion County where he finally crashed into a utility pole. Citrus County deputies opened fire on Wentworth when he got out of the SUV holding a rifle. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died. No law enforcement officers were hurt.
