Melbourne-based L3Harris Technologies has announced that a deal has been reached in which it will sell it’s commercial aviation business for $800 million. It comes as part of a corporate effort to reduce debt and they plan to use the proceeds from the sale of what L3Harris terms a “non-core asset” to reach their debt leverage objective. The commercial aviation division of L3Harris has about 1,450 employees, but the company has not released details about just how many of them are based in Brevard County.
