Medical Associates of Brevard in Melbourne is notifying nearly 250,000 individuals after a data breach exposed personal and protected health information. The breach, linked to a ransomware group, was discovered in January, but was only recently disclosed. Since then, the healthcare organization has been working with third-party experts to secure its systems. They say there is no evidence of misuse and they have offered 12 to 24 months of free credit monitoring. Authorities continue to investigate.
