In Palm Bay, police continue to try to learn what triggered the murders last weekend of a grandfather, a priest, and the priest’s sister. They won’t be able to question the killer… 24 year old Brandon Kapas was killed during a shootout with officers after he shot and wounded two Palm Bay Police officers. Palm Bay police found 76-year-old Father Robert Hoeffner and 69-year-old Sally Hoeffner dead in a home on Kamloops Street following the Sunday afternoon shootings, and they believe Kapas shot and killed them. Police were first alerted about a domestic disturbance at a home on Forgal Street. That’s where Kapas opened fire on two responding officers. Both of them, who have now been identified as Officers Stephen Ball and Nicholas Franze, are expected to recover.
