Turns out, the launch and landing of a SpaceX rocket wasn’t the only thing to jar a lot of Space Coast residents early yesterday morning. According to some reports, an earthquake was reported about 100 miles off the coast of Cape Canaveral. The 4.0 magnitude shaking happened just before 11pm Thursday, and a lot of people up and down the coast reported that they felt it. The area where it happened is not active, and earthquakes here are pretty rare. According to the US Geological Survey, the reason for that is that the state is not located anywhere near any tectonic plates.
