A man was hit and killed Friday evening on North Banana River Drive in Merritt Island late Friday night. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, it happened Friday around 10:20pm, and police say the 29 year old man from Merritt Island was lying in the road when he was hit by an SUV. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the driver of the SUV… a 57-year-old Merritt Island woman… was not hurt and she remained at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
