February 28, 1983 — 41 years ago today, CBS ran the final episode of “M*A*S*H.” As helicopter engines whirred nearby, doctors Hawkeye Pierce (Alan Alda) and B.J. Hunnicutt (Mike Farrell) said goodbye. For 27 years, this held the record as the most watched TV program of all time. It was eventually beaten by Super Bowl 44.
