Heavy rain and seasonal king tides flooded streets and yards across much of the Space Coast. Roads in some areas were reported impassable, leaving residents stuck at home. Melbourne recorded 3.05 inches of rain Friday, breaking the old October 10 record of 2.09 inches set in 2015. Officials say water levels were running from one to three feet above normal.
