A public official in Orange County has been arrested following an investigation into elderly exploitation and fraud,. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement says 58 year old Orlando Commissioner Regina Hill faces multiple charges, including exploitation of the elderly, mortgage fraud, and scheme to defraud. The investigation revealed that Hill allegedly used her influence to obtain power of attorney fraudulently, ultimately spending thousands of dollars from the victim’s savings for personal gain. While Hill’s attorney emphasizes her presumption of innocence, the city of Orlando acknowledges they lack the power to discipline elected officials, deferring to the Governor for any potential suspension.
