Brevard County has officially opened its new $35.6 million Emergency Operations Center this week, just in time for the anticipated busy hurricane season. The state-of-the-art facility, located in Rockledge, is four times larger than its predecessor. The center includes features like a commercial kitchen, conference rooms, and a Unified Communications Center for dispatching Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and Fire Rescue calls. Open houses are scheduled this weekend for the public to tour the facility.
