Man Killed By Train In Cocoa

A 45-year-old man was struck and killed by a Brightline passenger train in Cocoa on Monday afternoon. It happened yesterday around 3:30PM at the Rosa L. Jones Boulevard and U.S. 1 crossing. Witnesses told Cocoa police that the man deliberately stood on the tracks as the southbound train approached. The man’s name has not been released, and the medical examiner’s office has begun an autopsy. While the Brightline train was allowed to continue on its route shortly after the investigation began, the intersection was closed for nearly two hours.
