The End Is Approaching For The ISS

NASA and SpaceX are planning the controlled re-entry of the International Space Station into the Earth’s atmosphere, but don’t worry… it’s not going to happen right away. After more than two decades in orbit, discussions are now underway into the logistics of safely deorbiting the ISS. Both agencies say there is a need for a specialized deorbit vehicle with enhanced capabilities. The complex operation will involve multiple burns over several days to guide the station into a remote area of the ocean. NASA plans to retire the ISS by the end of 2030, paving the way for future commercial space stations.
