A Brevard County Grand Jury has indicted a man from Titusville on a charge of first degree murder, and now the state has 45 days to decide whether or not to pursue the death penalty. 22 year old Alteric Johnson was arrested on June 2nd by Titusville Police following the shooting death of his girlfriend, 21 year old Ty’Kara Madden. Investigators say Johnson attacked her with a machete, partially amputating her hand, and then when she ran to a neighbor’s house, he shot her in the back of her head. A trial date has not been set.
