The tropics are remarkably quiet for mid July, and we can thank dust for that. That’s right… dust! A plume of Saharan dust is approaching Florida, expected to arrive by Saturday morning in South Florida and reaching the Space Coast by Sunday. The dust, traveling from Africa across the Atlantic, will bring vibrant sunrises and sunsets. The Saharan Dust also helps suppress tropical cyclone development, keeping the tropics quiet. It also brings us some vibrant sunrises and sunsets, so enjoy it while you can. Hurricane Season runs until the end of November.
