Brevard County residents have until the end of the day today to register to vote or change their party affiliation ahead of the August 20 primary elections. Florida’s closed-primary system means only registered Republicans or Democrats can vote in their respective party primaries, though all voters can participate in nonpartisan races. Voter registration can be done in person at local Supervisor of Elections offices or online at www.VoteBrevard.gov. For mail ballots, requests must be made by August 8. Early voting runs from August 10 to 17 at various locations across the county.
