An 18-year-old from Merritt Island died and three other teens were injured in a crash on Interstate 95 near Palm Bay Sunday morning. The Florida Highway Patrol says the accident occurred south of St. John’s Heritage Parkway around 11 yesterday morning. The driver of a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder, lost control and the vehicle overturned multiple times. None of the occupants, including two 18-year-old women from Cocoa and a 17-year-old from Merritt Island, were wearing seat belts. All three passengers were last reported to be in critical condition at Holmes Regional Medical Center. The southbound lanes of I-95 were briefly closed. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
