SpaceX successfully launched a Falcon 9 rocket yesterday afternoon at 5:04 from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, and minutes later, the rocket’s first stage made a successful landing on the drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean. The booster will be back at Port Canaveral in a few days to begin refurbishment for another use in a future mission. Yesterday’s launch took place from Launch Complex 40. Right next door at Launch complex 41, a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket is now poised for a launch scheduled for sometime between 6 and 8PM today. This evening’s launch will take an eastern trajectory, and the rocket includes four solid rocket boosters… meaning if it goes off as planned, it should create quite a show up and down the Space Coast. Weather for this evening’s launch is currently predicted to be about 60% “go.”
