Florida Bracing For Rain… LOTS Of Rain!

That tropical wave developing off the coast has now prompted Governor Ron DeSantis to declare a state of emergency in several Florida counties, although Brevard County so far, is not included. The system is moving northwest, and forecasters say it is likely to bring heavy rainfall across much of the state, with the potential for up to 12 inches of rain in some areas. In Brevard County, while the actual impact remains uncertain, the storm is expected to result in increased rainfall starting this weekend. So far though, significant marine and coastal impacts are expected to be minimal for Brevard County. A heat advisory is also in effect as we head into the weekend. Expect a lot of heavy rain this weekend here on the Space Coast, with the heaviest storms moving through our area on Sunday.
