Shoreline Restoration Underway In Palm Bay

Palm Bay has launched a $1 million project to restore the shorelines at Castaways Point Park and Stearns Point Park, which have suffered significant erosion from past hurricanes. The parks will be closed until December 5 for the four-month restoration effort. The project includes stabilizing the shoreline with layers of rock and fabric to prevent future damage from storms. The enhancements are aimed at reinforcing the parks, which were heavily impacted by Hurricane Ian and Nicole. City leaders say when finished, the improved shoreline will better withstand severe weather and minimize erosion.
