Boat Sober This Weekend

As we head into the Labor Day weekend, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is reminding boaters to prioritize safety on the water. Officers will be actively patrolling area waterways to prevent reckless and impaired boating. Their aim is to hopefully replicate last year’s success with no fatalities reported. Last year however, FWC issued over 380 citations and removed nearly 20 impaired operators over the holiday weekend. This year, they remind boaters to designate a sober operator. They also emphasize the importance of wearing life jackets.
