Cocoa Beach Police Warn Of Beach Holes

Cocoa Beach Police are now urging visitors to avoid digging large or deep holes on the beach after a series of dangerous incidents. Excessive digging can cause sand collapses, posing risks to both people and wildlife. In a tragic incident that happened back in March, a 7-year-old girl died when a hole she was digging caved in. Cocoa Beach Police now say if you are headed to the beach, don’t dig holes in the sand in order to prevent accidents. While the primary goal is education, a $100 fine could be issued for non-compliance with the beach safety rule.
