A tragic accident occurred Thursday night in Brevard County when a 68-year-old man was struck and killed by a car while in a crosswalk on King Street in Cocoa. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver was eastbound near Cox Road just before 8 p.m. when the pedestrian entered the crosswalk. The driver was not hurt, and remained at the scene. The pedestrian, a Melbourne resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. No names have been released. Police are investigating, but so far no charges have been filed.
