SpaceX has just launched the all-civilian Polaris Dawn crew aboard a Falcon 9 from Kennedy Space Center. The rocket took off at 5:24am today, kicking off their wide-ranging, five-day orbital mission. About 8 minutes later, the first stage of the rocket returned for a perfect touch down on the drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean. The launch this morning was visible up and down the Space Coast, as thousands of visitors and residents watched the glow through the clouds. The astronauts are now in orbit.
